-Married to Jeannie White for 22 years. He has two step children, Cannon and Charity, and five grandchildren.
-Has lived in Corpus Christi for 33 years.
-Worked as an engineer for DuPont for 40 years.
-Led multi million dollar projects at DuPont that finished on time and on budget.
-Taught Engineering courses at Texas A&M Corpus Christi as a visiting professor in 2006.
-Taught Technical Writing at CC Army Depot in 2015 for Del Mar College.
-Adjunct Professor of Chemical Engineering at Texas A&M Kingsville in 2014.
-Received the Engineering Excellence Award, the highest award DuPont gives to its engineers.
-Named Engineer of the Year in 2016 by the Nueces Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
-Awarded a Texaco Research Fellowship to support his studies for a Masters degree in Chemical Engineering at Louisiana Tech.
-Member of the US Coast Guard Reserves from 1968 to 1974.
-Past member of the Corpus Christi Ethics Commission 2011 to 2017
-Past member of the City Transportation Advisory Commission 2017 to 2019
-Past member of the Citizen's Advisory Committee in 2006 for the new Harbor Bridge.
-Past member of the Desalination Citizen's Advisory Committee in 1995.
-Served as President, State Director and Secretary of the Nueces Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
-Past member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (A.I.C.H.E.) 1972 to 2017
-Was a charter member for the Engineering Advisory Council at Texas A&M Kingsville.
-Drummer in the Veterans Band for 10 years.
-Served with the Corpus Christi Buccaraders for 10+ years.
-Volunteered weekends for KAIROS Outside Prison Ministry, serving women impacted by incarceration.
-Ran for Del Mar Board of Regents in 2012, ran for Mayor in the special election 2017.
-Presently a member of the Nueces Chapter of the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.
-Past volunteer for MathCounts competition for Junior High School students for three years.
-Plays the Bodhran (Irish drum) in a band called Two By Four .
-Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering in 1973 from Louisiana Tech in Ruston, Louisiana
-Masters in Environmental (Civil) Engineering in 1976 from Memphis State in Tennessee
Larry uses the hardhat in his campaign as a tangible symbol that he is a worker and a public servant.
It communicates in a way that words can not that he is not a politician, a lawyer or a developer.
